As part of our I Wish production, we will be joined by two guest industry professionals who will be leading workshops with our Creatives. Through hands-on, explorative sessions, you will explore professional film practice, camera & lighting and screen acting.

FERN DEACON

Fern is an English actress who has worked in the Film & TV industry for over a decade. She made her TV debut when she was just 10 years old. She is most known for her reoccurring role as Chloe on Channel 4’s “Ackley Bridge” and Agnes in CBBC's "Hetty Feather". She has also appeared in Disney+'s “Black Beauty”, Sky’s “The Enfield Haunting” and Apple TV’s “Trying”.

We are so excited that Fern is going to be delivering a guest workshop with our Reels Up Creatives this July. Fern will be leading our cast through an explorative, practical screen acting workshop, and lending a professional hand in bringing our cast's characters and scenes to life.

Fern's experience across such a wide array of professional screen acting roles is invaluable - and we are delighted that she is going to be joining us to help and inspire our Reels Up Creatives cast!

STEVEN WYATT

Steven is an Award-Winning Cinematographer & Owner Operator with 10+ years' experience, based between London & Manchester and is an Arri Certified Instructor and holds a PGCAP. Originally from Hong Kong, moved to the UK to train at Northern Film School gaining an BA & MA in Film Production. He specialized in Cinematography, where he trained exclusively and traditionally on motion picture film.

 

Steven has gone on to shoot films for screen agencies such as the UK Film Council & Northwest Vision & Media.  An early adopter of Digital Cinema, he shot his first project ‘Top of the Range’ featuring Joe Gilgun (This is England, Misfits & Preacher) on the Red Camera in 4K and did the same for his debut feature film ‘Ada’ shot on location in Albania in 2011.  

Steven has since worked for numerous production companies shooting commercial and digital content and as of 2017 shot 10 funded short films as part of the ‘Cinage film programme’. His most recent project includes contributing as a Co-Cinematographer to ‘The Reckoning of Erin Morrigan’, with Alumni National Film School Director Gabrielle Russell. Recently Wrapping production in the Republic of Ireland.  Steven continues to divide his time between lecturing in film making and cinematography at the University of Salford and working on freelancing projects nationwide. More recently his horror Microshort - ‘The Lure’ - has been touring on the film festival circuit to critical acclaim including Frightfest, Film Quest, Screamfest and Dead Northern.  

We are so excited that Steven is going to be delivering a guest workshop with our Reels Up Creatives this July. Steven will be leading our crew through an exploration of professional camera, lighting and on-set practices. When it comes to igniting a passion for filmmaking, and delving into the technical art of film production - Steven is the guy! We are so excited to have him on board for our Guest Professional workshop day this July.
