What?
Large-scale film productions, led by 9-17 year olds with little to no experience in filmmaking or screen acting. Each Creative has their own specially designed role on the project, and will learn about the film production process in the best way possible - by doing it!
Each RUC production includes 4 days of hands-on filmmaking workshops, followed by a 5 day production week, and a final film premiere event. As a Creative, you will come onto the project already knowing what your role is in the cast or crew. Then through the production you will delve into your role and responsibilities, learn all about filmmaking/screen acting and you will collaborate in bringing the film to life.
Every role on a film set is a crucial part of that production. Reels Up Creatives is all about exploring the value and creativity in each and every one of those roles. It is about filmmaking as a collaborative platform for expression and storytelling. And it is about letting your creative, filmmaking voice be heard.
THE CHECKLIST
In-person workshops exploring practical filmmaking and the pre-production process.

A professional headshot photo to be used for promotion - and for your own filmmaking journey.

The space to explore and express your creativity through cinematic language and film, alongside a team of other passionate young filmmakers and performers.
SCREENWRITER'S RETREAT
Each RUC production is driven by Creatives in every aspect. In between each production, we run a short screenwriter's retreat for young people. Across two days, you will delve into the screenwriting craft, write your own screenplay, and work with other aspiring screenwriters.
